Rose Myrtle Lappet Moth Trabala vishnou
Never offered before by WWB. This very pretty Lappet Moth from Thailand can be reared in Europe very easily. The male is like a leaf green Drinker and the female like a yellow Lappet! Young larvae are prettily patterned with rings of black and white, and with whiskery hairs, which are best not touched as they can cause a skin rash on susceptible people.
Oak, Bramble and Eucalyptus are the foodplants most used, but these are also reported: Rhododendron, Camellia, Poplars, Castor, Pomegranite and Rose.
In warm conditions this species can be continuously brooded.
A very attractive and different species, which we recommend if you have never reared it.
