Black Continental Pins
Continental pins are made of stainless or black steel. They are all of a standard length (40mm) and differ in thickness only. Size 00 is fine: Size 3 medium thickness and 6 is robust. Size 7 is a very strong pin and longer (52mm). Continental pins require greater depth of drawer or store box. They are used internationally by museums and collectors. The greater depth allows for several data labels, and keep specimens higher so perhaps more protected from pests. Sold in packets of 100

Fine Headless Pins Packet of 200
Ideal for labels and tiny specimens. Neat and unobtrusive. 15 mm long. Very fine 0.31mm thick.
Because these pins are headless, it is painful to use fingers! For handling use Entomological forceps.
Most users have headless pins for very neat labelling of specimens in a collection, but they are also used for mounting micro moths and other small entomological specimens.
Plastic/Glass-headed Pins
These give excellent grip on setting tapes, and are easier to manipulate than ordinary pins. Especially useful for large insects.
