Cricula trifenestrata India
This close relative of the Scarlet Windowed Moth C. andrei comes from Java. The larvae will feed on Plum or Blackthorn. They will probably accept Hawthorn, possibly Apple and probably a wide variety of substitute temperate trees and shrubs.
The cocoons are at least twice the size of those of andrei , and of a rich golden colour. The moth is very variable in colour, usually in shades of plum or chestnut.
