Automeris metzli from Central america and Mexico
Being south/Central American, where it is hot, there is no resting stage in winter. Keep them breeding!
Recorded larval food plants include Prunus species, Apple Rose, Bramble, Hawthorn, Oak, Hazel, Beech, Sallows, Willows.

One of the larger Bulls Eye Moths Automeris, and not only scarce and beautiful, but has amazingly attractive larvae. Don’t deliberately touch Automeris larvae, because their multi branched spines sting like a nettle!
Rather seldom available. Don’t miss this opportunity!
