Description

Italian Festoon Zerynthia cassandra Pupae

Once considered as a subspecies of Z. polyxena, now recognised as a true species, found uniquely in Italy, mostly confined to the south, and coastal disctricts.

The larvae are like miniature Birdwing larvae and likewise feed on local species of Aristolochia .

Keep pupae cold until incubation in late spring.
