Automeris dagmarae Bolivia
Another large species for Automeris. Very fine moths and attractive larvae with branched spines. Eggs are expected in spring. Larvae feed on Bramble, Laurel, Evergreen Oak and other Oaks, Willows, Apple, Plum, Hawthorn and Beech. Most Automeris larvae feed on a wide variety of trees, so try others and add to the list of foodplants.
The larvae pupate amongst leaf litter. Two or more generations in a year.
