EMPTY WOOLLARD STOCK CABINETS These are used, extremely practical, large-drawer cabinets that have been the main stock cabinets at Worldwide Butterflies for a number of years. They provide masses of space for larger specimens and a wonderful reserve of all your spare material.
Varnished light coloured ramin wood veneer, the cabinets are stackable. Each 10-drawer unit measures 24.5 x 30.75 by height 23.5”. The large-format drawers measure 23 x 29”, rather more than twice the size of stardard butterfly cabinets.
Condition. The fronts and cabinets are for the most part quite smart. Some labels to remove. All drawers have glass lids, some with a wooden frame, others have plastic angle frame, not all in matching colours. Some frames are good, others could be smartened up, but all perform their task of edging and holding in place the glass lids. Most drawers are lined with Plastazote, some wall to wall, most have a gap either side of the Plastazote. Considering these have been used by Worldwide Butterflies for some 30 years, the overall condition is quite good. As a precaution, all drawers have been frozen regularly and anti-vermin prevention should be continued. If drawers were re-lined, the drawer bases would look nearly new. A handyman could attend to any worn drawer runners and improve the overall appearance, but these cabinets are in totally usable condition for storage, without any further work.
The prices are a fraction of normal cabinet prices! Each drawer is about 230% larger than standard drawers. A high quality cabinet with small drawers costs in the region of £100 per drawer: perhaps £230 for the storage space of one of these drawers. These drawers come at a small fraction of the normal price for second hand cabinets and there is a big reduction if buying more than one cabinet.
