Description

Ceranchia apollina, Madagascar

This is the first time we have offered this very unusual Madagascan Silkmoth.

We don't have a list of potential foodplants and we will list them if we can find any. Breeders who are successful in breeding from these pupae, should try larvae on a variety of trees, because sometimes larvae take to a subsitute food quite readily. We have since been told that the larvae accept Stephanotis floribunda, Frangipani Plumeria, and Gomphocarpus fruticosus,  and the natural foodplant is Plectaneia elastica.
